It's Official...

Cora is gaining weight without the NG Tube! This first week was basically a trial week, and I felt her milk intake volume was borderline, so it all came down to the weigh-in...
 9lbs 5oz (naked)
She is gaining weight at the same rate (~1oz/day) as she did with the NG Tube, which is wonderful, but also surprising for me. She is getting more sleep, since we also went from feeding her 8 times a day to feeding her 7 times a day. We basically skip one feed at night and that's been so needed. Since I'm still on maternity leave (thanks to my colleagues for donating leave!), I'm still getting up if she wakes up early, but she usually sleeps from midnight to 5am, when I wake her up to eat. I think she is a good sleeper, so I really look forward to letting her sleep as long as she wants... maybe I'll have time for a nap?!

I'm starting to settle-in to her new feeding schedule and learning to relax a bit more; I'm not quite as hyper about her numbers. But, I'm still tracking and get nervous if we have a few "bad" feeds in a row. The amount of spitting up is still unsettling, too, but her providers assure me that spitting up is a normal part of any baby's life and that Cora is not spitting up too much.

I am also really excited to be getting our first family vacation in for the Memorial Day weekend! We are heading to the Rivah (approved by Cora's docs), tomorrow. Wish us luck. I just can't wait to get away from the house... it's been a long and stressful 6 months. But, I think I can finally say that it's starting to feel like we have a regular ~3 month old baby (once we get rid of a few more meds, life will get that much more normal!). Getting to know Cora and watching her amazing journey has really been awe-inspiring. We are so blessed.
