Thank You Kiki!

I have to give a big thank you to my mom for spending almost 30 nights managing one of the overnight feedings. The 5am feed should be known as the Kiki feed. Mom supported us the first week that Cora came home, then Matt took 1 of his two paternity leave weeks, and then they switched off again. This past week was Mom's 3rd week with us and I think Mom would agree that Cora has turned the corner. That NG tube is going to be gone by her next visit! (I hope to God I'm not jinxing it!?)

I've just gotten another in-home assessment of Miss Cora and she's really thriving. Cora is very vocal, with lots of happy alert, cooing time. She has great head/neck strength and can roll over too. Now that she is getting so close to getting rid of the NG Tube, I feel like I'm going to be a regular mom of a newborn, soon! The light is definitely at the end of the tunnel for needing medical support to growing my sweet, strong "Baby Cora!" If we can get rid of some of her meds when we get rid of that tube, then it will definitely be true! We are almost there and I'm brimming with pride.

Today marks my first day as Cora's caretaker, alone. Matt is working (but, how lucky are we that he can work from home and bring up a bottle for me?!) this week and Mom is gone and it's just me and Cora for the work day. So far, so good, though we are struggling with a little GI upset which impacted the 8am feed. Hopefully the pear juice will do the trick after this next feed. Wish us luck!
