Day 2 - Suburban Social Distancing in NC

As I embark on Day 2 of school closure, I'm attempting to prioritize work, since it is a work day and I'm able to easily work from home, and so is my husband. I want to confirm that I am following the rules and share my sanity plan...

  • We all feel healthy - check (and grateful!!).
  • I'm working from home, so is my husband, my daughters are home too - check.
  • We understand that the issue is that the virus can be spread unknowingly by contact with infected globules - check.
  • The way to reduce contact with infected globules is to distance from other people - check (sad).

Here's where my logic takes me for our health and safety...

  • As a human, spending time outside is healthy.
  • The more time spent in isolation, the more time I need to spend outside.
  • I'm not at risk of infected globules outside, unless there are infected people carrying infected globules outside.
  • Naturally, you can safely distance more easily from other people when outside.
  • Therefore, outside is the safest and healthiest place to be!

For my sanity, you'll find me and my kids outside, when the sun comes out (I even took Lexie on a walk in the rain today) and our schedules allow, especially since we face many more days of this isolation.
