Our family has gone from daily activities dominating the calendar, on top of school/work, including dance (2x/week for Stella, now), softball (2-3x/week), basketball, girl scouts and volleyball (only once) to literally nothing on the calendar, other than our work calls. I'm not surprised that the slow down of the first week has felt a bit welcomed, at least for me. But I can't say that will continue to be the case, which is my worry for this process, ongoing.
Tensions have increased, from a parenting perspective, but we are still early in this process, so I certainly anticipate that it will get much harder, especially if we have to take-on school teacher responsibilities. So far, we've really leaned-in to a spring break mode, where we aren't stressing about academic learning. But, all signs are pointing to no more classes this year, so how will that shape my approach? I hope we are up for the challenge.
Matt was certainly strong on his domestic responsibilities today!
