1525grams or 3lbs, 6oz
- We are training Cora to take food by mouth (bottle & breast), she is making progress, but it's baby steps.
- Cora is really regulating her temperature on her own, and now that she's hit the 1500gram mark, she could, very soon, get out of the "box." The only reason she hasn't gotten out already is because it burns calories to regulate temperature and since they are playing with diuretics and as she is still periodically tachypnic (high respiratory rate), which also burns calories, it's important to try to isolate factors affecting weight gain.
- She is still off the nasal cannula and may be a bit reliant on diuretics to manage tachypnia, but I know that she is improving here, I can tell a difference in her respiratory rate when we Kangaroo.
- Cora's eye exam, today, revealed no change from last week - this is a great relief!
- Our Kangaroos, in general, are so comforting, now. Before, it was quite stressful, because her monitors were beeping constantly, as well as those around her. Now that we're in Transitional Care Nursery (TCN), there is less beeping around us and, most importantly, there is less beeping for Cora. With less cords/wires/tubes too, the whole experience is encouraging - I cannot wait until there are no more leads, and I'm just picking-up my baby from her cradle/crib and holding her, forever!
