"Perfect Preemie"

Matt & I had a meeting with Cora's Attending and Nurse Practitioner, today. We got to learn from the experts about how well Cora is doing and ask our questions. It was really a great meeting, especially when they began the meeting by referring to her as a "Perfect Preemie." All of her issues are related to being premature with immature organs. She is a healthy baby with no additional risk factors for any health issues, aside from being premature. She has greater than 75% change of testing "normal" in all developmental areas, but with good nutrition, appropriate physical and occupational therapy, and continued love and Kangaroo Care, Cora's Attending Physician is confident that she is going to do just great! The final comment was: "Cora is great and that is the bottom line."
Medical advances are phenomenal; I never thought I'd be so grateful for such a top notch medical facility. Thank God for Duke.
Could not have asked for a better outcome.... thank God for modern medical advances.
