100 Days - D-Day

Today is Cora's Due Date.
She has spent 100 Days in the hospital.
   Birth weight: 1lb 12oz
   March 7, 2014 weight: 5lb 3oz
  • 2 Normal Brain Ultrasounds!
  • Countless blood tests: heel pricks
  • 12 Chest X-Rays
  • 12 Abdomen X-Rays
  • 2 Renal Ultrasounds
  • 3 Echo-cardiograms
  • 5 Eye Exams
When I think about everything that she's had to endure in the hospital and everything that she missed-out in the womb, my heart aches and breaks, but it won't be long now for me to make up for it in every way that I can! She is going to love it so much at home... maybe more than I'm going to love having her here!?

We have come so far. As I reflected during our visit today, it's pretty awesome that I'm no longer concerned about the monitors (well, at least I'm not zero-ed in on them). Our PO feeding struggles are manageable - she will eventually learn to eat by mouth. I'm so grateful to have met my sweet baby girl and get to know her. She is amazingly strong and an inspiration for, not only, modern medicine, but also for the human will to live. I'm so proud to call myself Cora's mom!
