15 Weeks, 105 Days: 40 Gestational Weeks

Today started rather tough for me. We’ve had some
recent, unexplained set-backs regarding Cora’s PO feeding, well, maybe I can explain
them, but they seem more like excuses than anything: Eye Exam, needing to poop,
or just generally not queuing/tired. Knowing that she needs to eat by mouth in
order to come home, and knowing the alternative is a g-tube, I’ve been rather
sad and overwhelmed.
Thank goodness, I walked into the TCN (Transitional Care
Nursery) and immediately saw a friendly face: Ashley, one of Cora’s primary
nurses was taking care of her today! This immediately made me feel better.
Then, I learn that she’s advocating for Cora and has every confidence in her to
PO feed, really helped me get back some of the hope that I’d been losing with
each failed attempt. I cannot thank you, enough!
So, we ended the day with some good progress on PO feeding (after "chipping" her to get her bowels to move a really good/large amount of poop!) - we knew she felt better!
I left the hospital and hit the grocery store to pick up some food for dinner. I got home just as a windy rain storm moved over our area, which took out our power! So, a trip to Moe's for takeout and two pumps in the car, later, I'm pleased to say that I'm blogging with power. It would have been a rough night to come to the garage in order to stay on my pump schedule.
I have to also give a big thank you to Sarah for visiting all the way from the left coast! The support was really timely and it was good to have a distraction from a difficult time. Thanks does not quite convey my appreciation and Stella says: "Where is Sarah? Oh, she's on a plane: Bye Bye Sarah Toonki!"
